Training Programs

Courses

PREP Training has developed a series of instructional courses designed to introduce individuals and families to preparing for natural disasters and emergencies most common to East Texas. Designed as a tiered program, each course builds upon the foundation of the previous session to strengthen participants’ knowledge and readiness.

Seminars

Since the presentation of the first 'basic' PREP 101 course, there has been an observed need to provide more in-depth instruction on specific topics presented during the basic PREP Training Courses. What has resulted is a series of 2-3 hour intensive 'seminars' addressing single-topic subjects related to at least seven categories of preparation topics.

Workshops

Several seminars have been further developed into interactive Workshops, which maintain the educational depth of the traditional seminar format while adding a purposeful hands-on component. These workshops are intentionally designed for smaller groups, enabling stronger engagement and more personalized instruction.

Food & Water Preparedness

Being prepared for emergency situations, either short or long-term, is not lack of faith in God. It is using our God-given wisdom and skills to help those in need when a situation arises. Any number of events can severely restrict access to supplies of food and water. Tornadoes, hurricanes, winter storms, flooding, fire, disruption of the electrical grid, and stops in supply chains can cut off access for days, weeks or even longer. Message to Local Churches

In times of crisis/disasters, the public always turns to the Church for help and answers – physical, emotional and spiritual. To ensure our ability as a Body to respond to the needs of a hurting community, we have to be prepared ourselves. We cannot minister out of our need, but only from our overflow.

PREP Ministries normally takes a summer break from training sessions for the months of July and August. We will resume our regular calendar of training sessions on 19 September with our two foundational Courses: "Be Prepared: A Practical Guide to Surviving Local Emergencies" (PREP 101) planned for the morning and "Extended Crisis Management: Navigating Long-Term Disaster Scenarios" (PREP 201) in the afternoon. We plan to host an in-depth "AI and the Church" seminar in October and then a new seminar on "Financial Preparedness" in November.
